EXO KAI was born in Sucheon and moved to Seoul when he was in middle school.
Kai decided to become a singer after watching SHINHWA’s performances (one of his older sisters was a big fan of SHINHWA).
He started learning jazz dance in 2nd grade.
He started learning ballet in 4th grade.
Kai auditioned for SM Entertainment when he was in 6th grade (his dad sent Kai’s ballet video to SM) and got into SM as a trainee when he was in 8th grade.
Kai made his debut as a member of EXO after 5 years of training.
