- Seungmin got into JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2017 and made his debut as a member of Stray Kids in 2018.
- He placed second in the 13th JYP Open Audition.
- He chose to audition for JYP because his friend, Lee Daehwi (AB6IX) who was a JYP trainee told him to audition for JYP. But when he got into JYP, Lee Daehwi already left JYP and got into BRANDNEW MUSIC.
